Hay Writers At Work Scheme

Last week Tyler was up at the Hay Festival in Hay-on-Wye in Wales, as part of the Writers At Work scheme sponsored by the festival and organized by Tiffany Murray.  It was a brilliant opportunity to join a team of up-and-coming and established Welsh writers, and attend events with industry professionals: agents, editors, authors, and poets.  Tyler's been buzzing ever since, and insisted we at his publicity team put up a post allowing him to thank Tiffany and the organizers for assembling such a great crew of Welsh writers, and arranging a week chock-full of inspiring and informative events.  When we ask him about what might be next for the Writers at Work moving forward, he gets all elusive and mysterious.  It's like a cult or a club, no doubt with a secret handshake and its own private online forum.  Well, at least it seems he made a friend or two: he undoubtedly needs them, being a lonely Canadian living abroad.  We maybe are just a little bit jealous...partly because we were trapped here in the office, writing copy, while he was off learning, networking, drinking, and enjoying himself.  And yes, frustratingly, this year the Hay festival actually did look like the photograph above: the weather was absolutely blazing.
