Getting Ready For Word Factory
Every August, Tyler falls into a form of reverse, hot-weather hibernation that finds him sitting in a deck chair, moonshine in hand, straw hat on head, both feet firmly planted on the porch, looking like some minor character from Steinbeck's Tortilla Flats. But now, Tyler, it's time to shrug off that summer slumber. Induction Week starts on Monday. You have first years to welcome to the UoG Writing School, workshops to teach, a BA programme to run. But before all that, this Saturday, the 19th - tomorrow night! - you're reading at the Word Factory, the renowned story salon in London, along with Toby Litt, Carys Davies, and Diriye Osman. Yes, it's exciting - and no, we haven't booked your train ticket or hotel room. We're your publicists, not your personal managers. So get your skates on. This is going to be an event to remember. Note to the public: those interested in attending what's shaping up to be a brilliant event, you can still book a last minute ticket at the Word Factory website, and catch glimpses of their previous alumni via the online video interviews. See you there!
